Nasa is an acronym for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Formed in July 1958 it is a agency of the United States of America governement. It is responsable for the civilian space program and space research.

The agency has lead many space mission to research and discover more about the univers and our origins. One of it’s most famous missions is the Apollo 11 mission lead in 1969. It’s objectiv has to land a small crew on the moon. Neil Armstrong was the first man to set foot on the moon. He said a sentence will has now been graved into history as he was descending from the space shuttle and about to set foot on the moon : “That’s one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind”.

The mission was filmed and broadcasted live to all the world. We discoverd the landscape of the moon and it’s deadly looking geography. It was the first time in human history that such a feat was accomplished. Never before had mankind walked on an other planet.

Space conquest had always been a race between the soviet union and the US. As it took place during the cold war, both nations were trying to prove to the other their superiority.  The americans were the first to make it. When the cold war ended Nasa and the other space agency decided to cooperate together. Since they have accomplished many missions and done many researches.

The mission of the NASA is focused on understanding the Earth better, and exploring the rest of space and the solar system. Many satelites and robots have been sent into outerspace in order to take pictures and reaseach unknown areas of our solar system. Not all of them have been succesfull as such robots are very complicated to built, a lot of precision is needed. The slightest default and the entire mission could be compromised.
