Based on the true events of one of the worst NASA tragedy’s.  NASA plans to send out people to the Moon for a yet another lunar mission. The mission is called Apollo 13 and has started less than a year after Neil Armstrong had set foot on the moon. The mission was not going to be broadcasted on television because the americans had lost interest in what they thought had become a rountine mission.

Jim Lovell, Frad Haise, and Jack Swigert have been chosen as astronauts for this mission. Originaly they were destinated for Apollo 14 they were rescheduled for the mission. They were launched successfully into outer space in 1971. Everything went well until these words pierced the immense void of space: “Houston, we have a problem.”

A minor default inside the space module had caused an explosion which turned the exploration into a test for survival for the crew. While Loveel, Haise, and Swigert try to survive in space while 205,000 miles from earth the prospects of a safe return fade. Meanwhile the engineers at NASA are doing all they can to find a way to get these astronauts back on earth safely.

“This is a tale of averted tragedy, heroism and shows a testament to the creativity of the scientists who ran the early space missions.”

It is a great story and is highly recommended.
